This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Growth are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the books of Colossians, 1Thessalonians and Philemon. They are: Understanding the grace of God; Rooted and built up; Impartation; and From unprofitable to profitable.
Excerpts:
Understanding the grace of God
“However for such reality, we need to make a shift in our thinking, we need to start seeing ourselves having died with Christ, and raised up with him and now in him in the resurrection of Christ moving with his power we get to walk in newness of life, we get to live in that life, higher life, the new creature life (2Corinthians 5:17).”
Rooted and built up
“The building blocks of our lives are formed by the will and word of God. They line and shape the various rooms of our relationships, career, marriage, entertainment, business interests. All of them should be expressions of the will and word of God, the constituents of the block you should use to build them.”
Impartation
“When he met them, he said: did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believe to which they answered in the negative, adding that they knew only the baptism of John. Then he imparted the gospel to them, which was later followed by the impartation of the Holy Spirit. While he imparted the gospel to them in a moment and the Holy Spirit too, it would be after spending years with them that he imparted his life.”
From unprofitable to profitable
“It is the life of God in us, the grace of God we convey, that makes us profitable. We are meant to be good stewards of the manifold grace of God (1Peter 4:10). It is the grace of God that we use and the profit are the changes/fruits that are manifest in the lives of other, the changes in their life, the help they receive because we are faithful stewards God’s grace (1Corinthians 4:1-2), with which we impact lives.”
