This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of the Ministry of the Word are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore six topics, from different verses in the book of Psalms. They are: The Law of the Lord is perfect; “My mouth shall speak wisdom”; Teaching the Lord’s way; The truth of the Lord;  ‘Give me understanding’; and  ‘Teach me to do your will’.
Excerpts:
The Law of the Lord is perfect
“Jesus as the word is the one who lightens us. He is the light and by the word which he personalises, he guides us (John 1:1).”
“My mouth shall speak wisdom”
“The word of Christ is meant to dwell in us with all wisdom, with all depth of understanding and knowledge (Colossians 3:16), causing us to speak forth in like manner. What are you waiting for? Open your heart to retain God’s wisdom, open your mouth to speak it forth.”
Teaching the Lord’s way
“There would be lasting impact and the haemorrhaging in the church would be arrested, because you are attempting to draw the people into the way of your church doctrine or/and programmes, but the ways of the Lord. There is nothing wrong with the doctrine or the programmes but they cannot be an end in themselves but a means to an end- teaching the ways of God, not shoring up the popularity of a man, or to create an impression. The activities must be expressions of the way of God not the whims of a man or a group.”
The truth of the Lord
"John wants the person of Jesus to be clearly seen, while Paul wanted the mission of Jesus to be clearly understood. All in their own ways defended the truth of the Lord and calls us to do likewise.”

‘Give me understanding’
“Without adequate understanding of him, there will not be an effective walk with God. Amos wrote: can two walk together except they be agreed (Amos 3:3)? Coming to an agreement, moving in the same direction has to do with having shared understanding. That is gotten through fellowship and an ongoing one too; because God is constantly moving and we need to continue pursue a renewed understanding of him and his ways.”
‘Teach me to do your will’
“They need to realise that we are made alive in him (Ephesians 2:5), and since he is light, in him we are enlightened, we are taken from the rule of darkness to the rule of light (Colossians 1:13). His light beams in us, shines through us. All our questions are answers in him as it is his best interest to show us his will, because it is then that we are able to walk fully with him.”
