This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Growth are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the book of Isaiah. They are: A remnant; Motivation and perspective; Nearness to God; and Bridegroom, bride.
A remnant
“Similarly, when God asked Noah to build an ark to prepare a remnant when he planned to send a flood to the earth to destroy every living thing (Genesis 7). The only people saved were Noah and his family. Jesus revealed what happened at that time will repeat itself, in which people will continue in their previous lifestyles and normal social engagement when a major catastrophe was coming on the earth. The majority were blinded from the import of the moment while Noah and a few people member of the family was saved. Only a remnant was saved.”
Motivation and perspective
“Jesus told he apostles that he no longer call them servants but friends because the servant only serves but does not share the mission of the master, but friends share perspective, point of view (John 15:15). They talk things over. He wants us to be partners with him, not just obeying but joyfully obeying, not just receiving, but also giving.”
Nearness to God
“In Christ we can walk free from sin, such level of victory was not available before. In Christ we died to sin to the principle of sin, and we are alive to the principles of righteousness.”
Bridegroom, bride
“Sometimes we experience sadness and joy without even realising why, not because there is something wrong with us, but because we are so one with Christ we share in his emotion all the time, from time to time and from place to place, situation to situation, in oneness with him, in all things.”
