The idea for the present volume arose at the 8th German Lusitanistentag in Munich in 2009, in a sub-session entitled Women Writers in Lusophone Africa. This volume presents a first assessment of the manifold forms of literary discourse of women writers from the Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa. The poetic introduction of Ana Mafalda Leite and the dialogue between Ondjaki and Ana Paula Tavares complete the critical appreciation of the work of creative writers.
