This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of The Power of God are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the books of Joshua, Judges, Ruth and 1Samuel. They are: What God gives; God has wings; David and Goliath; and How to recover all you’ve lost.
Excerpts:
What God gives
“The five-fold ministers are referred to as gifts of God to us (Ephesians 4:7-16). They are specially packaged to be channels through which God would flow. By the Spirit, God brings phased changes into the body of Christ, moving us along into the image of Christ, infused with the presence of God, and enabled by the power of God.”
God has wings
“There is nothing like helpless when he is involved as he makes his ability available to us. David said: by my God I leaped over a wall, and run through a troop (Psalm 18:29).”
David and Goliath
“Also, the power of God is in us, and when it is stirred up in the place of prayer like Elijah did, we get to move heaven. Jesus said that whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18).
“We get to use spiritual power (symbolised by David’s stone moving in the air) to cut down the enemy.”
How to recover all you’ve lost
“The bible says when a thief is caught; he has to return sevenfold what he stole (Proverbs 6:30-31). And Jesus said that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus said he has come that we might have life and have it in abundance (John 10:10). That means whatever the devil steals, God restores in abundance; whatever he kills is brought back to a higher life; and for whatever he destroys, there is restoration to higher function. Be assured, you will recover all, just trust in God.”
