This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Identity are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore ten topics, from different verses in the books of Ezekiel, Joel, Amos, and Haggai. They are: Appearance; The people of God; Snare; You are different; The meaning of spiritual leadership; The most holy place; The Lord Is There; Beat plowshares in swords; Wine and oil; and Defining glory.

Excerpts:
Appearance
“Hezekiah seemed like a great guy, until he was tested by God (2Chronicles 32:31). It was discovered he was just as self-absorbed, focused on his own glory as many others. If it was just about appearance, the son of Jesse that would have been anointed king to replace Saul was Eliab, but God does not play like that. God said that man looks at appearance but he looks at the heart (1Samuel 16:7). The heart matter is the real matter.”
The people of God
“Paul wrote that as we behold his glory we are changed from one level of glory to another (2Corinthians 3:18). As the people of God, change is what we are called to. Spiritual growth is about change; Peter said that we are called to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our lord Jesus Christ (2Peter 3:18).”
Snare
“So because Jesus is free we are also free, because he is truth and when we grow in his knowledge we grow in freedom. Understand that the “truth” that does not lead you to more freedom is a lie, is a snare.”
You are different
“He said he maximised his ministry as an apostle to the gentile. He was not trying to be jealous of other people but was content to be who he is under the grace of God. He said: I am who I am by the grace of God. He puts this difference up to the hand of God upon him. He said the treasure he has from God is in an earthen vessel (2Corinthians 4:7). The vessel is common, it is made from mud, but the treasure is rear and comes from the divinity in us, we are partakers of the divine nature (2Peter 1:4), and therefore all the glory goes to God. Your difference is what is uncommon about you, the value that will be added because you show up.”
The meaning of spiritual leadership
“He wrote that those who do not know Christ are in spiritual blindness (Ephesians 4:18); he charged another to walk in the light as children of light (Ephesians 5:8). He concludes that the work of the devil (the thief) is to blind and prevent us from experiencing the light of Christ (2Corinthians 4:4-6) and the spiritual leaders’ business is to help the people to see.”
The most holy place
“In another prophetic word in the bible describing the same time, the light of the presence of God will be everywhere (no night, no shadows) on the earth, standing for the prevalence of the absolute will of God. That reality will be seen in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:22-27).”
The Lord Is There
“The manifestation of God is as his word, and when the word goes forth his power does forth. The bible says that the worlds were framed by the word of God (Hebrews 11:3), but things got spoiled when the word of the devil was manifested, was acted out by Adam and Eve (Genesis 3). To rectify that power, God the Word manifested as Jesus Christ. He is called Emmanuel, God with us. The Lord was here in Jesus Christ, the Lord is now here in the church, since we are the body of Christ, the light of the world.”
Beat plowshares in swords
“He was so effective that his shadow became a healing conduit (Acts 5:15), leading to many coming to the kingdom. As a warrior he led the invasion of the nation of Israel in his time, with love, truth and power, to replace the hate, lies and bondage the devil covers the people with.”
