This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Growth are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore three topics, from different verses in the book of Genesis. They are: Walking with God; Faith as shield; and Cutting off foreign influences.
Excerpts:
Walking with God
“The place of prayer assures of closeness with divinity. It is putting our faith to work thereby strengthening it (Hebrews 11:6). Because when you choose to relate with the unseen one in the place of prayer, it equips you to walk with Him in our day-to-day living; to walk with my spiritual eyes (trained in the place of prayer), with the one whom I cannot see with my physical eyes.
“As we strengthen our faith in the place of prayer, we use that to walk with God, in real life situations.”
Faith as shield
“The multiplication of food for thousands by Jesus was a manifestation of the gift of faith; ditto the also raising of the dead (removing the constraints of (shielding from) lack and the grave).”
Cutting off foreign influences
“They fail to consider that the blood of Jesus is meant to make us (through its cleansing ability) incapable of committing the sins we have confessed, not an allowance for more sin (and that the blood of Jesus grace to us). See how some people twist the meaning of grace. Paul said the grace of God trains in righteousness (Titus 2:11-12). That is the true definition of grace.”
