This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Growth are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore six topics, from different verses in the book of Exodus. They are: The fear of God; Dedicate yourself to God; Changed by the presence; You need an anointing to minister for God; Wisdom, understanding and knowledge; and Right shape.
Excerpts:
The fear of God
“When Isaiah saw the Lord, he experienced His fear (Isaiah 6:1-8), and he quickly confessed his sin. When Ananias and Sapphira died suddenly because were killed by God for lying, the fear of the Lord spread throughout the church (Acts 5:1-13). We need a greater intensity of the presence of God in the church of God so that we will all exhibit the fear of God.”
Dedicate yourself to God
“Write down the chapter you covered so that the next day you don’t waste any time trying to remember where you should read the each time. Also, chronicle your adventure in scriptures on a blog, online journal, social networks, or with the good old’, pen and paper. You can share your experience on social media platforms online.  See you on the other side of one year of dedicating yourself to reading through the scriptures.”
Changed by the presence
“At midnight, after praying, I am sure they did not plan it, they started praising God loudly; that was a crazy thing to do, disturbing their neighbors, sorry, fellow prisoners. The experience of the presence of God in prayer led to the change in mood and change in attitude which eventually led to the change on their dire situation. Where they were once tied they came to a position of being in command, being in control. That change started first in them as they were changed by the presence in the place of prayer, and then overflowed with joy in the Holy Ghost.
“They came from that prayer time overflowing with joy and that releases the glory of God to manifest in their situation.”
You need an anointing to minister for God
“Not ministering with the anointing had disastrous consequences for John the Baptist, for the seven sons of Sceva and for the two sons of Aaron. Don’t be numbered with them. There is no substitute to connecting with God, to the anointing, the heavenly quality in whatever we do to bring blessing to others and to glorify God.”
Wisdom, understanding and knowledge
“Understanding is a living factor of a formidable relationship with God. You can be taught wisdom, you can acquire knowledge, but understanding reflects the divine connection that makes us able to think like God.”
Right shape
“Love is the capstone of everything that should be added. Paul wrote that three things are eternal, love, hope and faith and the greatest is love (1Corinthians 13:13). Jesus expressed his love by his sacrifice. He said no greater love can one have than laying down his life for his brothers (John 15:13). And when love is added, every other thing can take the right shape because God is love (1John 4:8).”
