This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Emotional Healing are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore five topics, from different verses in the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. They are: How not to wear yourself out as a leader; Thanksgiving and peace; Curbing fear; Dissolving discouragement; and Love.
Excerpts:
How not to wear yourself out as a leader
“Actually, 24hours in a day is not enough to truly deal with all the cases of the children of Israel. That is why there was the need for Moses to dedicate his time to building others. Paul told Timothy that rather than trying to do it alone, he would teach faithful men who will be able to teach others the things he learnt from Paul (2Timothy 2:2).”
Thanksgiving and peace
“There is a marked difference between those who trust in God and those who do not. Jeremiah wrote that the one who trusts in God will experience heat when it comes; he will be like a tree that is always flourishing (Jeremiah 17:5-8).”
Curbing fear
“Sound mind comes when we focus on what God says about us, our situation and occupy ourselves with it, meditate on it day and night, and not what the devil has to say. If he says we are victorious then that should be what we fixate on, ruminate on, mentally and spiritually engage with, because what we fixate on controls our life.”
Dissolving discouragement
“The love of God fortifies you, you realise that all things work together for your good. As Paul wrote: if God is for us no one can be against us? No circumstance can be to our disadvantage, because the one who loves us is in charge of everything. He knows the future and has the best plans for us. That is a discouragement killer right there!”
Love
“We need everything blocking our full realisation of the love of God removed, any stronghold, high thing that opposes the knowledge of the love of God should be pulled down (2Corinthians 10:1-4), so that the full knowledge of Christ can be manifest in us, so that increasingly we will know him even as we are known.”
