‘When they got outside of the professor's house Philip said. ‘Do you know Joe I have learnt more in the last five minutes with the professor that I have in four years.’
‘Yes Phil but I am famished lets go and get signed in and get cleaned up and get some dinner.’
‘Joe that's all you think about your belly.’
‘Well a man has got to have his vitals if he is expected to march and fight.’
When they got to their room Joe headed straight for the shower and Philip jumped onto the bed and opened the book on first mates he could read German but it took him a long time before he came to the name of the Submarine U-101.
He looked for the name at the end of the line and it read Gunther Smizts he took out his pad and wrote the name down and the name of the town that he was born in.’

Chapter 3

Philip said. ‘Are you up to a bit of adventure this summer Joe.’
‘What do you mean a bit of an adventure what the hell have you got planned this year.’
‘Well it's nothing at the moment but if my Dad comes up with the money then we will start our holiday on the very day the University shuts down for the summer and it still depends on my Dad.’
‘Oh give over you know fine well that your Dad will back you all the way, and even if he diden’t then your Mam will talk him over, I mean with all the millions your Dad has it will be just a dip in the Ocean.’
‘Yes well we have still got to go see if he agrees with it, I think he will because he loves me to carry on doing something for myself when the University is closed
