This short piece takes a look at the implications of one voice in the present discourse on the historical Adam. Denis Lamoureux is a bright and totally well meaning. For this reason alone, a light-hearted response is appropriate. Surely, given all that we know about human evolution, a revision of the traditional doctrine of Original Sin may be inevitable. The problem is, given all that we do not know, then we may be in for a surprise.
Here, the surprise comes in the form of a twist. The ideas of Julian Jaynes are used to set the stage for appreciating the dilemma within Lamoureux’s paradigm shift.
