Love is a gift, given to us by our Creator. We do not have to work to become worthy of love. We ARE love. Our spirit is pure love. No matter what the circumstances of our birth, God intended us to be here. Otherwise, we would not exist. A wonderful poster says, "God Don't Make No Mistakes!" Believe it! What greater gift can we offer to anyone, to the world, than the gift of our love? Are YOU ready to share the gift of YOUR LOVE now?
Believe it or not, even scientists who have studied the tiniest particles that exist, will eventually realize that LOVE IS ALL THERE IS. Our birth was a gift of love to humanity, to this planet and beyond. We are here to share our self, to share our gifts with others and to receive the gifts that they have to give.
Who we are is our gift of love. Each of us has an equally important right to be here, to love and be loved. When we reach the end of our life, as our death is approaching and we review our life experiences, we will probably not think about the money we have earned, the careers we have created, or our favorite automobiles. What we will recall, regret, or grieve about is the way we have loved and whether or not we have lived as fully as we could have. As we feel our life slipping away, how we have loved and lived is all that really matters.
Don't wait until your life is ending to realize you could have loved more and lived more fully. Start living as if this was your final day on earth. Share your true feelings with others. Don't get stuck in anger, blame, resentment and regret. Bring yourself into this very moment. No matter how much physical pain, emotional abuse, loss, rejection, hurt or beautiful days in the sun you have experienced, bring yourself to this moment, right now. The past is over. No matter how wonderful or how devastating, your past is over. You are here now.
Although love creates the most profound feelings of peace and joy, most of us have not learned how to truly love our self or another. Relationships become a place to suffer. And when we are caught up in the pain and suffering of a relationship gone bad, we forget the joy that we dreamed about and had once experienced.
Pay attention to your emotions and the sensations in your body. Our emotions (joy, excitement, sadness, depression, rage) and our body sensations (aches, pains, sensuality, sexual desire) remind us that we are alive. As living, breathing human beings we respond to the sensations in our body, the thoughts in our mind, the emotions that we feel and the attitudes and behaviors of others.
When we take the time to understand our own wants, needs and desires, we can much more easily pay attention to the stated and unstated wants, needs and desires of others. We often project onto those we love the power to permanently satisfy or deny our unfulfilled childhood needs. During our bouts of love sickness and despair or unrealistic demands and expectations, we do not realize that this other person is just another human being. We forget that this person was also once a child and may also be harboring some unresolved and unmet childhood needs.
As you read this book, you have an opportunity to heal from your past and open your heart to giving and receiving love. By reviewing the ways you have loved and been loved and the ways you have not felt loved in the past, you discover that love is all around you just waiting to be felt and seen and shared. As you get ready to receive love, the people and circumstances that previously have held you back seem to miraculously drop away. Love seeks its own level. As you become more naturally loving, your world becomes a naturally loving place for you.
