From the master of high action, David Morrell, comes a classic espionage thriller that changed the way spy novels were written.

Two orphans are befriended by a man, who unknown to them works for the CIA. He makes the boys love him as a father, then recruits them as his off-the-books operatives, training them to be assassins. Now, to protect himself, he tries desperately to have them killed.Spanning the globe and nine hundred years of history, THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE ROSE is a thriller of fierce loyalty and violent betrayal, of murders planned and coolly executed, of revenge bitterly, urgently desired.

“David Morrell is, to me, the finest thriller writer living today, bar none.”—Steve Berry, New York Times bestselling author of The Columbus Affair

Filled with authentic CIA history and tradecraft, based on a real counter-espionage master, THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE ROSE is the first of a classic espionage trilogy that continues with THE FRATERNITY OF THE STONE and THE LEAGUE OF NIGHT AND FOG. It is also the basis for the only television miniseries to be broadcast after a Super Bowl. Download a sample or purchase today.

Praise for David Morrell books:

“Imagine a suspense thriller as riveting as The Thirty-Nine Steps or Rogue Male, featuring heroes the equal of Adam Halls Quiller, and crackling with more action than The Road Warrior, Dirty Harry, and The Seven Samurai. Sounds too good to be true? Then just read David Morrell's THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE ROSE.”—Washington Post Book World

“Fast-paced, intelligent, exciting and hard-hitting.”—Nelson DeMille, New York Times bestselling author of The Panther

“Nobody does this kind of thing better than David Morrell.”—Lee Child, New York Times bestselling author of The Affair

A personal note from the author:

The emotions in THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE ROSE come out of my experience in an orphanage when I was three, after my father died in combat. It's filled with authentic CIA history and tradecraft. One of its main characters is a fictional version of a legendary CIA counter-espionage officer, James Jesus Angleton. The “rose” of the title refers to the symbol of the espionage profession. In the middle ages, covert groups hung a rose above the table and pledged themselves to secrecy sub rosa, under the rose—a flower that in classical mythology was the emblem of silence.

About the author:

David Morrell is the author of FIRST BLOOD, the award-winning novel in which Rambo was created. He holds a Ph. D. in American literature from Penn State and was a professor in the English department at the University of Iowa. His numerous New York Times bestsellers include the classic spy novels, THE FRATERNITY OF THE STONE, THE LEAGUE OF NIGHT AND DOG, and EXTREME DENIAL. An Edgar, Anthony, and Macavity nominee, Morrell is the recipient of the prestigious Thriller Master award from the International Thriller Writers organization. His latest novel is a Victorian mystery/thriller, MURDER AS A FINE ART.
