This book describes in detail the Wii hardware, technical problems, most popular Wii games and how people play their Wii and Gamecube ROMs/games on a standard PC. A useful section is the list of GameCube games that work on the Wii. Many GC games have better graphics than the PS1 and Xbox, with some games having extra levels. GC games are cheap today but offer weeks of fun, this list will help you avoid buying GC games that are not compatible with the Wii console.

The successful Wii console was first conceived in 2001, at the time of Nintendo's GameCube was first being released. According to an interview with Nintendo's chief game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, the concept involved them focusing on a new form of player interaction.

The Wii U is Nintendo successor to the Wii. The system was released in November 18, 2012 in North America, November 30, 2012 in Europe and Australia, and on December 8, 2012 in Japan and was unveiled during Nintendo's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 on June 7, 2011. The console has been described as belonging to a new eighth generation. The Wii U is Nintendo's sixth home console and the first Nintendo console to produce 1080p high-definition graphics, and features a new controller with an embedded touchscreen.
