Clint is on his way from David to Chiriqui rande when he gets a call that there is trouble on the comarca. He goes to find four rednecks from the states with guns. He then discovers they were set up to distract him from ... what?
Then it gets hairy.

Some new people, arrogant people who were too used to giving orders instead of requests move onto Isla bastimentos. People said there would be trouble for dead certain!
that was a too literally true statement!
13 The Body in the Bay
A woman’s body is found in the bay near Tierra Oscura. The first theory is that she drowned when she got tangled in the mangrove roots while snorkeling.
Why would anyone be in that bay snorkeling – plus the fact that no one could get tangled in those roots at that spot.
Who were the men with her when she went out?
14 Dead End
Obnoxious people are building a marina on Isla Popa in a part that such a venture can’t but fail. The indigenos are trying to tell them it won’t work and they take it as the Indigenos trying to run them off their property.
Then there is a murder attempt.
15 Detour Through Hell
Clint and Judi are driving back from Las Tablas when they are trapped between two derumbes. It’s not so bad. They are with a busload of people and things are being set up to wait the night and day until the road is opened.
Then, the murder.
16 The Time Factor
A call about trouble between neighbors – but the caller was dead at the time the call was received. Murdered. Blah people in town. Too blah to believe.
17 A Long Way to Fall
A tourist falls off a small cliff and dies. s a companion is explaining what happened, Clint remembers the spot. he’s explored there.
The man fell into that dry stream bed, then over the lower fall area, then onto the road and across to end up by the bay?
That meant he had to roll uphill and under the guard rail at a very specific spot – where the heavy brush would have stopped the fall.
Right! And I have this bridge in San Francisco I’ll sell cheap!

Two bodies are found on the beach at Las Olivas. People drown in the rip tides there – but these died from the poison of a snake.Tthat happens, too.Tthe trouble is, the snake is only found in the waters off Australia.
19 A Moving Target
Light planes are being shot down over the comarca. Cint is called because he can get information others can’t. What’s behind it? Wat do the Indios have that can shoot down a plane three kilometers away? Wat is it about?

Cint and Jdi are driving home from a visit with friends and are approaching Hornitos when Judi remarks that there’s a fire dead ahead. They stop to help. It is a burning house. When Clint goes inside there is a body on the bed. a body that died from a broken neck, not a fire
