A memoir which shows how my large Italian interacted with a young Frank Sinatra and his mother, Dolly. My father who sang with a group called the Three Flashes, consisting of him and two other friends took Frank in on the strong suggestion of Dolly. When Major Bowes discovered them, he changed the name of the group to the Hoboken Four and the story shows what happened to four young men. I pick the book up from that time, showing how my dad met my mother, how my father began to drink after I was born along with my brother. Being raised in a tenement building with a toilet in the hall, shared between two families (fortunately related to us) it goes to how I met my husband, married and had two boys by the time I was 19 years old. The fact that I was very much like my father, I was restless and needed to do other things. It soon become an ongoing story of how I went to varius schools for hairdressing, dog grooming, real estate, owned a restaurant and a boarding home for senior citizens in which I handled all the cooking and interaction with 14 older people whose families neglected them. After having my third child by the time I was 35, I tell how difficult it was to start over again as a newborn's mother and the challenges of it all. After selling the business, I took a position in the Japanese company known as Panasonic. I tell of how my Japenese boss took me under his wing and was insrumental in my being successful and receiving promotions. Finally, after surviving lung cancer, I retired from work and worked instead, on getting my health back. Now facing old age, with the insistence from my children, I decided to get involved with the one thing that came so easy to me...writiing. This is the story of how we evolve and where we eventually wind up.
