If there is one thing in life that is totally non-discriminatory it is that everyone must make choices every day. The fact that we are faced with these decisions is one of the greatest challenges and frustrations of life. Living in a free society, as we do in America, increases the potential for success or failure through our own choices. Decisions, decisions, decisions! When to get up, what to eat, how hard to work or play, a life's career, who to befriend, whom to marry, where to live, how many children, what to do with the children, where and when to retire, how to react in crisis and much, much more. Some of the decisions are so inconsequential as to decide which brand of toothpaste to buy and some so crucial as to determine our quality of life and death and even where we will spend eternity. Our choices can also determine the life or death of another individual, of a business, of a family, or of our Nation. Many times there is only one right choice but many opportunities for wrong ones. Choices must be made from birth to death. Many times we decide between the lesser of two evils or the better of two goods. Many who have made wrong choices along the way would like to send up a flare, warning those who come after of the pitfalls. They wish someone would have left warning and detour signs for them to alert them of the wrong way at a fork in the road of life. Others who made right choices want to shout back and say "Hey! Follow me! This was a right turn, come this way!" This book involves flares, detours and hollers. Its purpose is to increase the quality of life of those who share this common condition called "life." It is a handbook of life's choices.
