Is your blood pressure healthy? How does your blood pressure compare to others in your age group?

Doctors use your blood pressure as an indication of the state of your health. A normal blood pressure has systolic under 120, diastolic under 80. You have prehypertension if your systolic reading is between 120-139 and a diastolic reading between 80-89. Stage 1 hypertension is classified with a systolic between 140-159, diastolic between 90-99. Severe or Stage 2 hypertension has systolic at 160 or above, diastolic 100 or above. Our normal blood pressure range can fluctuate throughout the day.

Age can make a difference in what’s considered normal and what’s not. In general,  if you are between age 0-35, the normal BP is considered 120 systolic / 80 diastolic; for those age 36+, the normal BP is 140 systolic /90 diastolic.

High blood pressure is known as the “silent killer” because it displays no prominent symptoms that can serve as a warning that something is wrong inside you. It is a serious health condition that increases your risks of having a heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, vascular dementia and other diseases related to blood vessel and blood circulation.

We can lower hypertension by means of natural remedies and prescribed medications. We cannot deny the efficacy of chemical-based medications. There is no argument that they work, albeit their side effects. Alternatively, we cannot also rebuff the effectiveness of natural forms of medicine. Plants and herbs contain phytochemicals, a naturally occurring plant substance that have been shown in research to protect against disease.

It is the purpose of this book to outline those specific plants and herbs that contain the phytochemicals you need to attain and maintain the desired level of blood pressure. With a healthy blood pressure, you can have a healthy heart as well as healthy body organs to keep you enjoying life.
