This work presents the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in sequential harmony with each other. All of the Scripture quoted has been taken directly from the Authorized King James Bible. The idea of presenting the gospels in harmony is not a new concept, but dates back to the middle of the second century A.D. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke are referred to as the Synoptic Gospels because they contain such similar content, whereas the Gospel of John tends to stand by itself. 30% of the book of Matthew represents original content not found in the other three. The book of Mark contains 8%, the book of Luke contains 50%, and 92% of the book of John is found to be original. The benefits of viewing the four Gospels in layers so as to expose the distinctive elements of each book are very apparent, for no one book relates the full story on its own. Like Tyndale's concept of the “Peoples Bible”, this work is meant for use as a devotional by the common person. It has not been written with a collection of notes or commentary embedded within the text, but contains pure scripture presented in sequential order, that allows the reader to view the Gospels as one continuing story. This harmony also presents a short synopsis of biblical hermeneutics written from a dispensational, pretribulational point of view to give any student of the Bible a basic understanding of biblical interpretation. It is my prayer that, beside your Bible, this work will give you a more complete understanding of the life of Christ, and will draw you into a closer relationship with the Lord.
