And there shall come an unholy trinity. With Knight Hunters stalking around every corner, two lives hang in the balance. Jack and Olga work in the shadows to save their people while the Wraith takes center stage and does what he does best. Introduce a little chaos into the system.

Excerpt

The faint smell of something rotting wafted into Olga’s nose as she walked down a dark ally in Hearthstone. Compost. Not an unusual scent in a city dedicated to the earth and growing things, certainly not in the back allies dedicated to the purpose.  Walls rough walls so that they looked and like tree bark rose darkly into the night on either side. Stone branches overhead cut the sky down to ribbons of star strewn velvet overhead.

Stepping gracefully to avoid the squishier bits Olga was little more than a shadow. Her lithe body was sheath in tight midnight-blue slacks and tunic with boots, her curling golden hair wrapped in a brown kerchief. Not fidgeting was a constant struggle. How could people dress in such tight clothing all the time?

The heir of Novakatana reflected on what else she might be doing at just that moment. Sipping watered wine.* Enjoying house Hammerstrke's famous cuisine with her mother's friends. Engaging in the time honored practice of building her future domain among her peers. Networking, deal making and maneuvering were important skills for a member of a noble house. Doubly so for a confirmed heir of a great house. Truthfully the Knight was rather good at the game. She had the knack of being able to read what a person really wanted. That way she could so give or deny depending on the situation and her pleasure. But working during a meal was a good way to spoil one's appetite.

All things considered she would rather be here. Helping two of her own kind. Thom Stranglevine was taller than her but that didn't mean much.
