A 100 years in the past the Roma Empire wondered who and what is in the vast lands north and east of Central Valley. What scrolls can be found talk of a strange woman, the head of a man, and something called ‘The first step.’ The scrolls never say why the attempted expansion was halted. It appears from military records that there were three or more legions nearby. There is even no folk lore or legends about the country and who or what may be there. Never has anyone been seen coming from there.

It is now 100 years later, and the current Emperor wishes to expand, expand. He hides from the Senate his movement of troopers north. He is warned not to expand east of Central Valley in a series of scrolls delivered by canoe using the large river They were written suns before he receives them. But describe his actions as if they were present when they occurred.
He is warned beforehand that three of the four of his legions ordered to Central Valley will never arrive and not one trooper will die by the sword. Scrolls keep coming down the river from the unknown lands and they continue to demand the Emperor respect the treaty’s boundary.
Enraged the Emperor orders 20 legions and the Vice Consul of the Empire to destroy all those in the northern country and claim it for Roma. Just as the scrolls fore told he would.
The Vice Consul is not confronted by a strange woman but the loss of three legions as the scrolls fore told. The woman is but a single young girl on large horse overlooking the empty battle field.
Before the battle can begin, the Vice Consul sends all his legions on a quick march back to their bases. The Emperor seems not care at all. Is the north country safe for another 100 years?
