About the Author, Joyce Buckner, Ph.D.--

Joyce Buckner, Ph.D., is internationally recognized as a leading authority on relationships, intimacy, and the dialogical process. A licensed psychologist and marriage and family therapist in private practice for more than 30 years, Dr. Buckner has worked extensively with hundreds of couples in intimate relationships and individuals struggling with relationship issues. Having made seminal contributions to the theory and practice of Imago Relationship Therapy, she has now developed her own model—The New ERA of Intimacy. In the last 30 years, Dr. Buckner has trained mental health providers from around the globe in relationship therapy. She appears as a relationship expert on international radio and television talk shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show. Dr. Buckner is also a former professor and academic department head at the University of Texas at Arlington. She is certified by the Council for the National Registry of Health Service Providers in Psychology, and she is past president of the international Association for Imago Relationship Therapy.
