Most people don't realize that depression can last for years. The word more often conjures up ideas of a short lived, yet intense, sadness that befalls someone after a tragic event. Unfortunately, for many people, their depression is not short lived. It lasts for many years and it can seem as if nothing will help. This book explores the chronic nature of depression and how someone suffering from it can work towards a better place. Chronic Depression: A User's Manual claims no cure for depression. It is a guide. One that tackles chronic depression from a unique angle.

I've dealt with depression for most of my adolescent and all of my adult life. This book is a collection of my research, insight, and personal experience. Written specifically to help those with chronic depression, this book can also be a resource for those close to someone with chronic depression or the simply curious. I believe the best way to cope with depression is knowledge and self-discovery. I convey these principles through straightforward explanation and easy-to-follow exercises.

Depression is a difficult illness to deal with and we all need help from time to time. I don't want you to have to go through it alone. Hopefully my experience can help you jump start your own treatment.
