Yukon, the Polar Bear

"The story The Adventures of Yukon, the Polar Bear brings awareness about global warming and climate change and teaches children how important our planet is. The reader is not only drawn into the story but learns how climate change affects polar bear habitat and how polar bears will eventually become extinct if we don't take action now. Yukon is a polar bear cub who enjoys the company of his mother and loves play fighting with her or sliding down the slopes. One day, due to ice thawing and thinning, his mother falls between two blocks of sea ice and is badly injured. Yukon runs to get help, but he is stranded on an ice floe that drifts into open waters and leaves his injured mother behind. He is sad, lonely, and inexperienced. Yukon cannot swim and is too small to hunt for ringed seals or beluga whales, those huge marine monsters, as he calls them. Will he be able to survive in the wilderness without his mother?"
