Who Wrote The Book

Once Kerri had submitted her book to a publisher, she anxiously waited to see it this would be the book that would finally be published. The idea to write a story about government secrets discovered by an author had been well researched and this made her feel hopeful.

The publisher came back to her with a proposal that he would print a short run of thirty books. She felt disappointed, but decided it was better than no publishing contract at all.  She also discovered that she would have to sell the books herself, -at a small bookstore within a mall.  This made Kerri feel decidedly unhappy, but she went along with the deak anyway.

Unfortunately, she had only made a single sale when a detective arrested her and confiscated all her books.  He said he had to take her into custody for revealing government secrets in her book.  She protested that her book was pure fiction, but she was still questioned and kept inside a windowless room for some time.

Then one day she was released with a stern warning to never mention the book, her incarceration or the secrets ever again to anybody.  She was a timid person, so she took the warning seriously.  Then when she returned to her flat she discovered it had been ransacked.

In spite of everything that had happened Kerri decided she had better just get on with her life.  Then months later, she made the discovery that her book had been published under a different title by someone else and this is when a fearce protective side of her kicked in and she decided to take some action to set matters right.
