Pastors’ spouses are not homogeneous, but all face similar challenges. This book will inspire pastors and their spouses, seminarians and their spouses, church members and the general public to a deeper respect for a corps of faithful servants who receive few thanks, but who lovingly inspire a global army of godly pastors.
“As a minister’s wife of 38 years it was refreshing to read words of truth that enrich, enlighten, and encourage wives of ministers in this 21st century. Because of the mask we tend to wear for protection, we so often find ourselves not addressing some of the truths we live. In her book, What On Earth Am I Doing?, Pattie opens the door to the heart of women called by God and serving as ministers’ wives. Read and be blessed.” —Chaplain Linda Dianne Crimes-Penick, Southeastern Conference Pastoral Spouse Caregiver, Riverside, California
Pattiejean Brown has been a pastor’s wife in the United States, Canada, and England and is currently a family ministries assistant and director of clergy wives in Bermuda. She is a graduate of Atlantic Union College, with degrees in behavioral sciences and liberal arts, and has conducted family life seminars in North America, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean, with her husband Dr. Jeffrey Brown. Together they have authored The Total Marriage, Single and Gifted, and A Guide to Parenting. They have two young adult children, Kristle and Jamel.
