Synopsis: ALBERT LEE (AL) HARLOW II was born the second of four children outside Los Angeles in 1963. Al was a hyperactive child, a self-described “Dennis the Menace” who was a handful for his MOM, an emotionally depressed woman who never failed to lash out at her children. Al’s DAD worked odd jobs and had a mean temper. Al’s first burglary was at six when he broke into a neighbor’s home. When Al was 10 his parents split up when his Mom became a Jehovah’s Witness. The family went on welfare and was forced to move into a tough neighborhood. Al a heavy kid became known as a fighter, and was mentored by his neighbor LOUIE who was the leader of a Latino gang. Al’s Mom was thrown out of the church, suffered some health setbacks that led to her blindness, and moved in with her lesbian lover VICKI. Vicki had the four Harlow children placed in foster care. Al and his older sister NANCY were sent to a new home together but after getting in a fight, AL left and lived on the streets for a few months going on a crime spree.

Al was put in a juvenile detention facility for a number of months. During his time there he spent time in solitary. When Al was released he was sent back to his Mom and Vicki with his other siblings. Al’s hatred for his Mom and Vicki quickly led to him moving in with his Dad. During the next couple of years, Al still had a reputation for fighting and was in and out of trouble with the law. Drugs became an issue for Al during this period. However, despite his problems with authority Al did find that he was a natural football player and played defense in high school. At 17, Al convinces his friend GORDON to travel to North Carolina with him to find adventure. The trip across country has its ups and downs but when they reach North Carolina a drunken evening changes Al’s life. A young girl he partied with and whose house he unlawfully entered accused him of rape. Al didn’t believe he raped the girl but lacking resources is sent to prison for a five year stint for burglary and assault.

During his first two years, Al was in charge of a lucrative financial enterprise with three other inmates acting as a credit union for prisoners. On the side, Al was pimping out gay inmates for cigarettes. Once the warden realized what Al was up to he transferred him to another prison. Al’s Dad and younger brother STEVEN had moved to North Carolina to be near him. Al’s Mom passed away and her children were left with settlement money. Al moved back to Norwalk and began working with drug dealers as an enforcer and then started ripping them off. In and out of prison, hooked on drugs and issues with gangs were problems for Al over the next few years. While on parole, Al (28) was approached by a motorcycle club in Long Beach, and he quickly rose in the ranks.

After orchestrating the biggest bloodless coup in Biker Club history, Al is made President of the MC’s new Tulsa chapter. However, Al’s many injuries have resulted in health problems, and a mistake leads to his enemies to go after him. A friend of Al’s ex-girlfriend accuses him of forcing her to give him oral sex and he is sentenced to two years in prison. Al survives multiple attempts on his life, and when released heads home to California. Dad has died and Steven gets Al some club security jobs in Orange County. After being exposed to UFC events, Al begins fighting with some success even going so far as Tokyo. Suffering from health problems and tired of the Hollywood security guard lifestyle, Al borrows money from Nancy and flies to Thailand.

In Thailand, Al begins boxing and once again found himself surrounded by gangsters but wanting to make a change he began a new chapter in his life. As an extra on the film “Alexander” he learned about acting by being an extra, and went on later to open a taco stand among other ventures. Al married his wife YIM and started a family. Al continues to try and improve his life despite the setbacks of his past.
