Time travel has always had a special interest for the author. Is it possible, and what would it be like? How would it feel to be in another century with knowledge of the present? So when a dusty Humvee was discovered during the spring cleanup of Washington’s Gardens at Mt. Vernon, Virginia, there were many questions. How did it get there? The caretakers of the gardens and grounds had no knowledge of the Humvee found inside a small iron-door room at the end of garden section no60. Even more shocking was the large roll of parchment paper in Washington’s own handwriting found inside the Humvee. This document explained as to just how the vehicle came to be in the small room. What would it be like for an American Army officer, Captain Andrew McKay, to find himself removed from his current life and transported back over two centuries? What would it be like to live for two years with Washington’s army during the intense struggle for independence? How would the Humvee, with its advanced weapons, change or not change history? Would Washington use the Humvee with its powerful weapons to help the cause without changing history? Would Captain McKay get back to his time?
