Trebonistanthilis is the youngest son of the King of Quanat. Except that, he was not raised as a Prince. After running away, he found his way to the nomadic Natrean, who took in the amnesic boy and taught him the laws of magic, and a way of life that embraces honor, trust, and the bonds of family against the harsh reality of their war.
Having regained his memories, Trebon returns to Quanat burdened with a history he cannot by custom and by law reveal to anyone, even the twin brother whose absence burned him like fire. Fitting into the structured and unfamiliar royal life is not Trebon’s only difficulty. His enemies, the Maythan, have had millennia to influence Quanat virtually unopposed, leaving Trebon to figure out what they are planning and how to stop them.
His work is derailed when the Maythan kidnaps his twin brother, Kris, and Trebon must rescue him and bring him home, with the help of his two bodyguards and his old foster sister. Their journey is not over with finding Kris, however, not when a hidden tomb and a mysterious message make Trebon's quest to understand the Maythan's actions even more important than they already are.
