Jack Ballantyne is an Australian Federal Police Officer based in Manila Philippines. His buddy Nathan Logorno, a US Private Investigator formerly with the LAPD is hired to assist Ballantyne with an intriguing case. Certain Australian politicians are fostering a relationship with movers and shakers within the Chinese Government. In order to secure Chinese orders for Australian natural resources, these politicians have identified means by which they can enrich themselves, through joint illicit operations with Chinese officials. Business interests of the PLA Generals in Beijing are facilitated by a Hong Kong merchant banker, Lu Fengwen, a specialist in creating offshore identities along with large-scale money laundering. He is also a Tao Master, and with his alter-ego Dominic Choy, is a long time disciple of Lao Tze and Chang Tao Ling. Using clandestine, highly unconventional methods, Mr Lu eliminates the Filipino impediments, but sets out to usurp his benefactors, the PLA generals. As events begin to unravel, Jack Ballantyne and Nathan Logorno are tasked with bringing the evildoers to justice. Could it be possible they’ve bitten off more than they can chew?
