Usui’s Teacher, the writings of Tanaka (2010) is a reprint of early 1900s writings by Morihei Tanaka, a famous Japanese healer that is a likely source of inspiration for (or even direct teaching of) Mikao Usui’s spiritual healing system Usui Reiki Ryoho/Usui Shiki Ryoho. The book explores this connection, and has an extensive commentary before the re-print of this classic early 1900 Japanese spiritual system, thought and practice. We aim to show the parallels and in many occations the identical practice and writing of Tanaka’s Taireido and Reishi Action and Usui’s Reiki Ryoho (Usui’s spiritual (energy) healing method).
We believe this english 1920 version is a translation of the original work published in 1910. This was many years before Usui had developed his system, and when we can read, e.g. Absent healing method described in an identical manner to what is presented to us from Usui Reiki Ryoho system it is very likely that Tanaka’s teachings have filtered into what we today know as Reiki, by direct transmission or through indirect inception.
