When Britney Taylor is assigned to serve as NHL superstar Jake McCoy’s personal assistant, she is anything but pleased.  Although most women would be overjoyed at the chance to spend two months with the drop dead gorgeous hockey player at his luxurious cabin in Stanley, Idaho, she isn’t one of them.  Haunted by the demons of her past, she’s spent the past four years hiding behind a protective wall she’s built around herself.  But now, all that she’s done to protect herself is suddenly in jeopardy.

When the owner of the Minnesota Blades, determined to re-sign Jake for the upcoming season, offers him the temporary use of his personal secretary to get him through the off-season, it might have seemed like the perfect solution.  That is, if the woman in question was anyone other than Ms. Britney Taylor, aka The Ice Queen.  Her cool, almost frigid demeanor has earned her the unflattering nickname within the organization and from what Jake is able to tell, it’s a fitting title.  Unfortunately, however, desperate times call for desperate measures.

What neither Britney nor Jake can anticipate, however, is what will happen once they arrive in Stanley.  That a burgeoning friendship will slowly ignite into a passionate love affair that neither one of them ever saw coming.
