UFOs were reported in western New York with great frequency beginning in 1965. The towns of Parma and West Sparta in Livingston County were nightly hotspots for UFO observation. People drove their in large numbers. It was said that one was lucky to find space to park an auto during the evenings, for a time. My e-book describes UFO sightings in Dansville and Gloversville in 1966 and 1967, objects that were observed in Rensselaer and Saratoga Counties and many other eyewitness reports. Some of the observers truly believed in unidentified flying objects but most claimed to have been mystified by what they had seen. A Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute student made a UFO detector which was battery powered. He said that he wanted to make it to earn extra money and to take advantage of what he considered a phenomena. There was certainly an uptick in reported sightings of UFOs in New York State during the eight years I have researched. Along with the eyewitness accounts of UFOs I have included biographical information about many of the people who were quoted in newspapers from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Many of them are still living but some are deceased.
