This marvelous cloche hat intrigues the eye by appearing to be knitted in separate directions. It provides a “twist and twirl” effect. However, it is knitted easily, in four connected sections, as one piece and finished using a circular needle for a seamless hat band. There are two hat band options found at the end of this pattern. You may choose a straight band or a roll band. The pattern also includes instructions for completing the hat with a beret point as well as excellent reference photographs.

Skill Level: Advanced (or ambitious) beginner

Things you need to knit this hat:

Size 10 needles (9 inch circular or 16 inch circular) or one set Size 10 DPN

Size 10 short needles (optional)

Size 11 short needle or DPN to help in 3 needle bind off and final hat band bind off

2 skeins (100 grams each) Worsted or Chunky Weight Yarn. One skein of Red Heart Super Saver Yarn is more than enough to complete this hat. The hat in the pattern images were knitted with chunky weight soft wool.
