**In c.1341 BCE, a baby boy was born in a city on the banks of the Nile River, roughly 250 miles north of Luxor. His name was Tutankhamun, or 'King Tut', the boy king. **

He was not destined to become pharaoh, yet, at the age of nine, Tutankhamun was made king. Alas, his reign and his life were cut cruelly short. He died aged only 18 or so in about 1323 BCE.

Almost 3,300 years later, in November 1922, English archaeologist, Howard Carter, discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb, perhaps the most exciting archaeological find ever.

Read about Tutankhamun’s life, his parents and his grandparents, how he became king, his coronation and his life as Egyptian pharaoh. And read about his death and the various theories on how this young king met his end.

As a young boy, Felix Rhodes, the author, was taken to see the ‘Treasures of Tutankhamun’ exhibition at London’s British Museum in 1972. To this day he can still remember being blown away on seeing Tutankhamun’s famous golden death mask. It was that moment that sparked his interest in Ancient Egypt, an interest that has held his attention ever since.

'Tutankhamun: A Brief Biography - Ancient Egypt's Most Famous Pharaoh' is approximately 30 pages long.
