CHAPTER I - WHAT IS LEARNING TO LEARN?

To say that man, unlike all other beings, is a rational being, among other things, implies that he, regardless of their genetic differences and/or environmental, is able to learn.

That is, mean that he, the man, makes no mention of course of intelligence, the ability to be able to think.

Think, exercise and/or practice the intelligence, and thus is likely to be held as a man that is, since the other beings, fauna and flora, unlike man, do not have to think about to live: they only live.

Following this same line of reasoning, once wrote us Nietzsche:

 "( ... ) The intelligence is life that clarifies the own life (...) ". (P.199, thus spoke Zarathustra)

II

However, don't stop there: we need to understand what is intelligence. According to the dictionary Aurelio, intelligence means:

Faculty or ability to learn.
Grasp (which means learn mentally, it abstractly about an object of study any);
Understand or adapt easily.
Mental Dexterity.
Acumen.

All of these settings are plausible, this is giving us the great breadth of what might be intelligence.

However, it is important to say that, of course, Nietzsche is not, not by far , speaking only of these intelligences, which, as you can see, are focusing on skills, competencies and/or capabilities to only purchase content , skills.

Nietzsche, when it speaks of intelligence, is also talking about the ability to create meanings, of processing capacity, the ability to overcome, the capacity of the breach of values, the re-signification and the establishment of new ways of seeing and interacting with the world.

In this sense, so that the intelligence may truly be "the life that has come to be able to clarify their lives" and does not take the individual to the prisons, for the imprisonment of the development, in itself, only the specific skills, moderator power and Neo-technical, based on mental aptitudes, aiming to only through the exercise of it, seek fill-knowledge, it is necessary that you understand that there are various ways of thinking, as we shall see, more in detail, in the next chapter, namely:

The thinking about how to represent.
The thinking as conceptualize;
The thinking as problematize;
The thinking about how to create.
The thinking about how you feel.
The thinking about how to solve problems.
