Have you ever felt that no matter what you did or what you said, concerning anything that mattered, your words werent even taken into consideration? Lets say that you have children and youre trying to raise them the way you know, the right way. Then you turn around and someone else is raising your kids and you know its wrong but you have no control. Or maybe you take your kids to a friends home for the week and never call or check. You come back to get them, and you find yourself attending their funeral. It was neglect, that wore DiPetris childhood away. His life was turmoil, never having the chance to do anything for himself in a good way, no choice to make but bad. He had done things through operant learning, knowing that every action had a reaction, and the anticipation of the reaction. Do something wrong and you get to meet someone, that was what it seemed like. Being a part of DYFS has hindered him in so many ways. Never having their help or them being there for him. They took everything from him including his dignity and purpose for living. They had the audacity to not allow his parents full parental control, when DYFS wasnt doing anything for him. DiPetri felt dead to the world, never knowing what his next step was, never understanding whats in line for him. His life was not determined by his actions or behaviors, but yet a mere piece of paper. He felt like a lab rat, so much neglect and research done on him and his life. He was just waiting until the end when enough is enough and his body can't take anymore and shuts down.
