“If you are a fan of some of the more recent young adult fantasy novels/movies out there, you will enjoy this page turning book. I found it hard to put it down! About a group of recently orphaned children with special abilities, it keeps an enjoyable pace throughout and keeps you on your toes, having just the right balance of action and description as well as a solid plot and well-developed, interesting characters. Definitely recommend!” – StaceyK

Shali, Christian, Damen, and their five friends aren’t ordinary teens. They are half-human and half-muroni, and they’ve inherited special abilities they are still too young to completely control.

Shali, the leader of the group, grew up hearing stories of the fearsome and brutal Vinceres, who would stop at nothing to control the entire earth. After the alien invasion destroyed most of the world, the remaining few humans and muroni hid in remote villages. One village became a safe haven for both races and for the eight gifted teens.

When the aliens finally find the little hideaway, the community hides the eight and protects them with their dying breaths. Down in a subterranean bunker, the teenagers pray for a miracle. But none appears, and the eight emerge from the darkness to find their homes destroyed and their families dead.

To honor the village, Shali leads her friends on a quest to find the mysterious Legends, an ancient fighting force who can stand up to the invaders.

As the group ventures deeper into the wilderness, they have to dodge Vincere patrols and their own inner demons—and someone in the group has a secret past that could mean the death of them all.
