Andrew Lang (1844 – 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Lang was also a prolific author of works both fiction and non.
The Enchanted Wreath is a fairy tale, included in the Andrew Lang’s Orange Fairy Book. The narrative revolves around a little girl and her stepsister, living in the woods. Their mother did everything for her own daughter, but almost did not care about her step daughter. Year made a chasm of difference between two girls. And drove their mother nearly mad, for she started to treat her stepdaughter more like a slave and eventually, she threw her in the well for a little misdoing. But it was only the beginning of the story…
