Orison Swett Marden (1848-1924) was an American writer who worked in the genre of inspirational prose writing about the ways to gain success in life. According to his philosophy of life, people can manage their lives as they create and transform the life around them themselves. “Triumph of Canova” is a short story about early ages of great Italian sculpture of neoclassical style who became famous for his marble sculptures that delicately rendered nude flash. The story retells about some great banquet that took place in Venice. Right before the beginning of the feast royal confectioner who had been charged to prepare the centre ornament for the table said that his peace was spoiled. Suddenly pale faced boy ran into the crowd and advised his rapid help in performing the main meal, a butter lion. As you may guess it was Antonio Canova.
