It is a well-known fact that without making a mention of the incident of Karbala, our Islamic History would not be complete. This is a very sensitive topic to many people, but very few have spoken about it throughout our Islamic History. With regards to the available documented reports of the incident of Karbala, many of them are not completely reliable. Amongst those available, we have one reliable report which is made mention of by the well respected and great commentator and exegete, Al-Haafiz Ibn Katheer ad-Dimashqi, in his encyclopedic "Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah" (The Beginning and the End).
