We call it love and it feels like love, but the most stimulating of all human emotions is the beautiful form nature has of keeping the human race alive and reproducing itself briskly. The plan is quite simple and involves 3 acts : birth, reproduction and death. Like in most plays the main part of the plot takes place during the second act and it is here where the decisions we make and which we consider of free will are directed by our survival and perpetuation instincts, which date back to the beginning of humankind. Since we own only half of the genes required to form another being, our conduit to immortality, once we attain sexual maturity we go looking for a partner, which (to our genetic understanding) presents signs of good genes. It has been postulated that for this search we use a "love map" already imprinted in our brains, that will determine which sexual characteristics will attract us in a partner and, in general terms, will lead us to fall in love with a certain type of person instead of another.

As we enter a gene market we look for those we find favorable but we need that ours be accepted too. For this undertaking, to which we dedicate the best part of our lives, we leave aside almost completely our rationality and let ourselves be guided by our senses. Proof of the success of this system is that each one of us is the result of a series of successful unions that go back in time.
