The Struggle Within

Nicola is a mid twenties entrepreneur that has it all. Karim, her doting and loving boyfriend. A employee, Patsy, that is more of a best friend and godsend than her employee. Two sisters, Sarah and Cassandra, and their families whom she loves and adores. She has everything she could possibly want.

But all that changed in an instant.

What she first thought was a belated valentines card turned out to be the first of many ‘loving’ gifts from a mysterious yet friendly stalker. His existence seems almost make believe, so much that even the police don’t consider him an actual threat and his presence creates friction in an already rocky relationship with Karim.

Her sudden desire to have a family of her own pushed unknown pressures onto Karim who secretly is unable to have children. His hopes for this desire to be a passing phase is crushed by her growing obsession with it. Unable to tell her the truth he finds solace in arms of many other women.

Nicola takes it upon herself to try and find out who the stalker is and stop him herself. Patsy and her sisters eagerly jump in to help her while Karim continues to maintain his distance. Oblivious to his slow departure from their relationship Nicola finds herself coming face to face with a dark and terrible secret from her past that her sisters have uncovered. Unable to face the truth she pushes them away in her time of need.

Patsy joins forces with Nicola’s childhood friend, Gregory, in attempts to uncover Karim’s cheating ways. But she quickly realizes that there is much more to Gregory than meets the eye and falls head over heels for him. The realization that he is the friendly stalker twists in her mind and she unbeknownst to him ups the stakes on Nicola in an attempt to push the already fragile Nicola over the edge mentally.

All at once Nicola’s world starts to fall apart when her sisters force the truth of her baby brother’s death upon her and forcing her to recall a childhood of solitude forced upon her by their mother, where her only friend allowed is her imaginary one. Shortly after her sister ends up in a deadly car accident, Patsy finds an Instagram account filled with pictures of Karim and his lovers and Nicola finds herself heartbroken and leaning on the one woman who is actively seeking to destroy her.

At his wit ends Karim breaks up with Nicola and then something snaps. Suddenly Nicola finds herself tied to a chair in a strange room. Karim is dead. Patsy is dead. She is alone and discovers she’s not actually tied up. Watch as she comes to term with the fact that her initial stalker was not actually a ‘real’ person, but her imaginary friend Gregory, her other personality who had remained dormant but had kept silent watch on her all these years, falling more and more in love with her. Until the point where he couldn’t bear to see her with anyone else but him forcing him to resurface once again, in what he thought was her time of need.
