Indian Fiction in English developed rapidly and also became a popular genre in Indian Literature in English and in World literature. With its vast variety of themes, subject matter, narrative technique and style it has won a unique place in the hearts of the literary lovers. The changing relationships in the changing world is well captured in the words, phrases, images and expressions by our writers. Our scholars and critics with their keen insight and critical perspectives brought out the issues that are discussed plainly and also the hidden issues suggested in the works of writers like Tagore, Shobha De, Shashi Deshpande, Santa Ram Rau, Gita Had Haraan, Chetan Bhagat, Basavaraj Naikar, Manoj Das, Kiran Desai, Maha Sweta Devi, Chaman Nahal, Rohinton Mistry, Amitav Ghosh, Manju Kapur and so on.
