THE RIDDLE OF SWAGG’S VAULT is a puzzle movie in the same category as The DaVinci Code and National Treasure, but instead of using history as its source material, our story uses pop culture.
Zoey Zalutsky is in dire financial straits because of a recent identity theft. Meanwhile, mega-rich Samolean “Sammy” Swagg passes away. His will stipulates that the bulk of his legacy – one billion dollars – is hidden in a secret vault somewhere in the world. Zoey vows to be the first to find it and recruits her brother and boyfriend into the hunt. To find the vault, our heroes must solve a series of clues, including:
·A numerical logic puzzle hidden on a cereal box.
·Solve a Rubik’s Cube to activate a homing device. But every square on the cube appears to be the same light green color. To see the different colors, they must hold the Cube underneath a blacklight.
·Discover the long-lost MASH time capsule.
·Play a classic cassette tape in a Teddy Ruxpin doll to hear a secret message.
·A rebus puzzle built out of cartoon panels from 20th Century comic strips.
·Navigate an Indiana Jones-style maze based upon classic board games.
·Other clues contained in old Atari games, 3D glasses, lunch boxes, famous roadside attractions, action figures, etc.
Zoey and her friends must solve each segment of the mystery while keeping their efforts secret from the rest of the world. The finale occurs in an underground fortress full of Rube Goldberg devices, optical illusions, and traps inspired by Road Runner cartoons.
