Prince Andrew and the Princess Angela had love marriage.  The Princess had a necklace of unique diamonds.  Everybody who saw the necklace envied it.  It created a jealousy among the ladies.  It also kicked up a commotion in the jewellary market when some men, under pressure of their wives, went in search of that quality of diamonds.

During their honeymoon tour of neighboring countries by sea, the necklace attracted every eye.  In one of the functions arranged in honor of the couple in another country, the Princess spotted a woman  staring at the necklace avidly. The Princess first ignored the woman but in another function in the next country, she again saw another woman looking at the necklace in the same manner as the first one.

The Princess got cautious.  In all later functions a woman was found seeing the necklace in the same manner but the woman was different every time always sitting alone. That made the Princess restless as she knew the value of the diamonds and their fame and loved them as her life.  She didn’t want to lose them.

The Princess got fed up and wanted to return home quickly lest she lost the necklace but at the same time she wanted to hide her fear from the Prince.

The woman who was a witch followed the couple in all the countries they visited and finally lost track when they returned home in the Royal ship. However she later found them in their home country.

The woman tried to make her way to reach the Princess to steal the necklace but couldn’t think up a safe plan.  She thought of several methods and finally used her power to become invisible and entered the couple’s palace but couldn’t succeed in getting hold of the necklace.  She scanned the whole bed-room while the Princess was asleep and the Prince was still out.

On return the Prince saw everything scattered on the floor and the Princess still sleeping. His first doubt was that the Princess had lost her mental balance and did everything herself but later, on explanation by the Princess, he also understood that it was a witch.

The Prince detailed a Royal magician to catch the witch.

How the magician laid traps in all cities around the Capital city to track down the witch?

Why the witch contacted a magician in a neighboring city?

How the witch overpowered one of the Prince’s strong men?

How a thorough surveillance of the witch was arranged and conducted by the Prince?

How the witch was besieged and how the problem ended?

The book has the answers to all above questions.
