The Rancher Next Door

Carley Gilbert was a very popular and talented Country singer, before deciding she did not want to live that type of life right now. She was only twenty, and she wanted to live on a ranch. She set aside her career and moved into a two hundred-acre ranch in Liberty Hill, Texas with her Dad who had just retired from truck driving.
It did not take her long to meet the arrogant rancher next door, and they seemed to bump heads almost immediately with his snide remarks to her. He made it very clear he wanted nothing to do with her. He would consult her father with any concerns about the property and stay away from her. He was sure all she did was stand in front of a mirror and primp all day anyway. What would she know about ranching? The last thing he needed was a pest living next door to him. If he wanted female attention, he would spend some time in town and ignore the new neighbor.
He did not have to worry about her bothering him because she totally ignored him, and he decided he did not like that either. He was surprised to learn she was a professional singer, and she knew how to play guitar and write music. She was very stubborn and never backed down when he tried to force her to comply with his wishes. When he learned her dad was ill and needed chemo treatments, he offered to stay with her while he was in Austin and made sure she was okay so John did not have to worry about her. It did not take him long to become jealous of her and decide to keep everyone else away. She was a beautiful woman, and he could not leave her alone. He held her in his arms each evening while they watched a movie, and his hands roamed over her body. She belonged to him, and he would make sure no one else ever touched her.
