Goulasche Press stood on Chotchie’s front step. He pushed the yellow door bell button, “Ding-Dong, Ding-Dong, Ding-Dong.” He heard some clumping noises coming from inside.
Chotchie opened the door, a very tiny crack. His head was turned sideways and his nose was pressed against the door.
“Hi, Goulasche,” said Chotchie.
“Hi, Chotchie. What are you doing?” asked Goulasche.
“You have to guess,” said Chotchie.
“How many guesses do I get?” asked Goulasche.
Chotchie looked up at the ceiling, sideways, and then down at the floor (the other sideways.) He moved his lips (like he was counting) - One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven..., Seven..., Seven..., “Ten,” he said.
“Are you eating some chips?” asked Goulasche.
“Not any more,” said Chotchie, wiping his hooves on his pants. “But that’s not what you’re guessing.”
“Does that still count as a question?” asked Goulasche.
“Maybe,” said Chotchie.
Goulasche peeked in the little window and saw papers and markers on the kitchen table. “Are you drawing pictures?” he asked.
