Hazel Hutchinson went to South Africa in 1956 looking for a good life in a new country. Instead she met and fell in love with black South African writer and political activist, Alfred Hutchinson. South Africa then was no place for a mixed race relationship so they made the hazardous journey across Africa to Ghana.
