A city in Eastern Washington is bombed to control the spread of a deadly disease. Years later, two men buy a storage unit that contains a strange chemical and boxes filled with gold Kruggerands. To keep the gold a secret, they dump the chemical into the sewer system inadvertently mutating a common virus. Three people contract the virus and each demonstrate amazing memory retention and increased intelligence.
